Many times we feel overwhelmed with the amount of need we are faced with. It seems everyday we hear about
someone else worse off than ourselves.
Jesus was faced with need every where He looked. At the pool of Bethesda he healed the lame man. The significant thing in this story is that there were many sick, lame and needy people at that pool, but Jesus only healed the one man, WHY?
I believe it is because His heavenly Father had revealed to Him to heal that one person on that day at that place.
When I was young in the ministry, I would be so moved by people's needs that my emotions would be constantly heavy with the weight of hurt and pain I carried for others. I would bring everyone into my home and try to minister to them. However I neglected to pray and ask God who does HE want me to reach out to? So I ended up having a lot of people in my life that wanted everything that I could give them, without wanting Jesus or to change for the better. The end result was burn out.
Jesus said that He only did the things that His Father showed Him and told Him. He faced everyday, AFTER He had spent time with His Heavenly Father, KNOWING what God had for Him that day. He was never taken off guard, manipulated into doing stuff. He never gave out of compulsion and He didn't say yes when all He really wanted to do is say no.
God has a part to play for all of us and His measure of grace for what He has called us to do. It is the enemy's tatic to come at us with condemnation about not doing enough. He wants us to burn out and be Marthas. God commissions and annoints us to do what He has called us to do. Our goal should be to pray about everything and obey His desires for our lives. When we do that, we focus on His strength in our life not our weakness.
Have a blessed week filled with God's appointments for you.
Blessings PS Dani
